Why Trust YMCA Family Day Care Services

YMCA provides families with trusted family day care services in Brisbane and the Gold Coast by focusing on:

In-depth selection process

All educators registered with the YMCA Family Day Care Services Scheme must go through an extensive recruitment process to ensure they meet all requirements of the Child Care Legislation, National Quality Framework and YMCA Policy.

Qualifications and professional requirements

Our dynamic team of educators need to have, or be completing, a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care. They must also possess a range of other qualifications to prove they can competently maintain a safe and stimulating home-based child care environment.

Continued investment in people

Educators are the heart of family day care services. All YMCA approved educators will have access to regular training courses and a wide variety of resources to create the best child care environment at home. YMCA also carries out regular visits to provide timely support.

Children first

Our YMCA coordinators work closely with families and educators to make sure your children have the best experience and learning opportunities. Families may request a coordinator provide an extra visit to an educator to assist on any matters.

We provide children with experiences that nurture their interests and provide them with fun, engaging, and safe learning opportunities.

Family Day Care Costs

YMCA is proud to offer child care at an affordable price.

Each family day care educator charges their own rate, depending on what’s included in their care.

All fees are regulated in accordance with YMCA guidelines to keep services affordable. We are happy to assist in partnering you with a family day care specialist that matches your individual needs and will help your children thrive.

Family Day Care or Child Care Centres?

Choosing the style of care that’s right for your family is important. Long day child care and family day care both provide high quality care for your children – but offer different benefits.

Similarities between family day care and child care centres:

  • Parents are eligible to receive Child Care Subsidy.
  • Both operate under the same National Quality Framework (NQF), the National Quality Standard and the Early Years Learning Framework.
  • Educators go through a rigorous screening process to ensure they are qualified.

What makes family day care different from child care centres:

  • Education and care are provided by an individual early childhood educator in their home setting.
  • Family day care has lower educator to child ratio, as educators work with no more than four children under school age at any one time.
  • Family day care provides more flexible care, including hourly care, out of school hours care, evening care and weekend care.
  • Family day care creates stronger bonds between educators, children and families.
